A qualified Barrister, bringing a unique mix of +30 years legal work in very human, painful, areas of the law and Courtroom/Tribunal Litigation.
I've been escaping the law for a while - I may never fully escape! For the last 15 years or so, I've been twin-tracking my Employment Law and HR work, increasingly focusing on my work as a Speaker, Trainer and Executive Coach.
Legal, Finance and HR professionals - and Small Business owners - will find my experience particularly relevant though I am, of course, comfortable working with others.

As well as 30+ years as a Barrister arguing cases in courtrooms and Employment Tribunals, I was very proud to become a European Champion Debater – and trainer to multiple World Champion Debaters! (more details here) In amongst all that, I fell in love with the world of personal development - which was invaluable in reflecting on my own leadership roles.
I've really enjoyed the challenge of working in very painful, human areas of the law – latterly HR and Employment Law specialising in bullying, harassment and discrimination. Before this, a decade as an in-house local authority lawyer specialising in child protection – some of the most emotionally demanding legal work there is, which many lawyers and coaches shy away from.
Working in very sensitive areas of life demands influence and support - without compromising clarity and vision.
I love to share these demanding ‘people’ insights with leaders and professionals - because for years I just didn't see the value in my own skills. I would tell myself 'surely everyone can negotiate like this...'
