Scott Johnston - Gravitas Coach

Scott qualified as a Barrister and has spent 25 years specialising in 'people' areas of the law, some very painful, including HR, employment law and bullying & harassment. For the last 10 years or so, he has been increasingly 'escaping' the law and now brings the skills of the legal world into your business world.

Having been on his own journey and suffered from the self-sabotage that is Imposter Syndrome, his passion is to help leaders, professionals and business owners to Be More Compelling.

Module Format

There are 6 modules.

The first module is a pre-programme video to introduce the programme, set the foundation and give you some self-reflection guidance.

The 5 following modules comprise 4 component parts:

1. One or two highly-interactive, one-hour small-group zoom sessions per module - a total of 8 sessions Feb-May 2025 plus a bonus session in June which will be a deep dive into a topic/module chosen by the group.

In each small-group session, after quick introductions I'll lead off with about 20 minutes of content on the module topic. We'll jump into breakout room discussions for a few minutes and then come back together as a group to share thoughts and reflections. 

2. A 10-page mini-workbook with materials for each module, sent in advance.

 

3. A follow-up email Q&A after each small-group session. Any questions asked by email will be answered in a monthly email to the whole group, so we all benefit from each other's ideas and queries.

Confidentiality will, of course, be respected at all times. 

4. To encourage you to feel comfortable to participate and speak up during the sessions, I'll record the sessions but not share the recordings. Instead, I'll create a new video for all to view at the end of each module. This will include my 'content' presentation plus a summary of the module discussions. You can participate fully in the sessions safe in the knowledge that you will not be included in the recording (unless you wish to be). 

In addition to these 6 modules, we will have 4x 121 virtual sessions (45-minutes): 2 sessions during the programme, arranged at a mutually convenient time. Plus we'll have a pre-programme and post-programme 121 session, so I can tailor the content to all members, ask for feedback after the programme and we can set your goals going forward to maintain your progress  and momentum.

There's also a Bonus Session where you choose the content.

When coupled with clarity, charisma and compassion, you will be even more Compelling.

I firmly believe that we are, in every single human interaction, in one way or another, always negotiating. So we had better get good at it.

You can learn how to 'negotiate like a lawyer' and 'out-influence' the room in your professional service delivery.


For leadership, relationships and sales. Essential when it comes to influencing stakeholders, volunteers, clients and colleagues - where we can't just 'pull rank'.

Uderstanding what causes, and perpetuates, the self-sabotage that is Imposter Syndrome. Building a resolute mindset and self-identity to keep it in check - and even overcome it.

Interpersonal conflict is a fact of life, business and relationships.

Let's build our conflict competence and conflict confidence by understanding how it starts, how it escalates and how it is resolved.

Let's raise our game when speaking and presenting AND when we have to speak without preparation - whether that's a last-minute request or the (some say, dreaded) Q&A after your presentation.

A recap/deeper dive into a particular topic/module or two chosen by the group (by majority vote if we can't agree!). 

Let's review your learnings and experience from the programme, the impact we have had and what you need to do to keep making progress and to keep up the momentum.

Programme Dates & Times

Each group session will be for an hour on zoom. If you prefer, you can use Teams as there's a zoom app within Teams.

Sessions will be on the first Tuesday of the month at 4.45pm and Friday lunchtime at 12.45pm about a fortnight later, but avoiding holidays.


If the dates don't work for you, don't worry. Let me know of your interest as there will be future/concurrent cohorts and I'll freeze your fees until the next cohort.

As you have expressed an interest, if you can't make it  this time let me know you are interested and I'll freeze the fees for you until the next time I offer the programme.

Let me know if you would prefer to work only 121, not in the small group programme, and we can create a bespoke programme just for you.

Full Fee for the Programme is only £2,250
It will be nearer £5,000 in future.

Earlybird Incentive 1: reduced to £1,450

  • For the first 10 people who sign up and make payment within 3 days of invoice

Earlybird Incentive 2: reduced to £1,850

  • Sign up by end of Jan 2025 and and make full payment before the first session

Payment will be due upon receipt of invoice and made by bank transfer to avoid additional costs. Card payment via paypal also available + paypal fees.
